Amenities
A cabin with a dark timber facade that holds back against the meadow — and opens up inside: pale spruce, a panorama window across the full width, and the mountains behind it.
From the outside the cabin is almost reticent. Black-clad timber, few openings, a flat roof. You wouldn't guess how bright it is inside.
Inside, a narrow window band runs the full length of the kitchen counter — at eye level while you're cooking. Opposite it the large glass front: bed, table, meadow, mountains, all on one sightline.
A ladder leads to the second sleeping level under the roof. The floor below stays clear, and that's the trick with just over 15 square metres of floor space: you stack rather than crowd.

The surroundings
The cabins stand at the Gerhardhof on the Mieming Plateau rather than alone on an alp — in return there is plenty around: an 800 m² natural swimming pond, beach volleyball, a riding facility, a playground, barbecue spots and a 3D archery course. The inn serves Tyrolean food in its parlour and on the terrace. In summer you can hike up the Strassberg or the Hohe Munde and cycle the Genussradweg across the plateau; in winter Seefeld, Hochoetz and Kühtai are half an hour away, along with 40 km of cross-country trails, snowshoe routes and ice skating.
Getting there
By car about 35 minutes from Innsbruck: take the A12 to Telfs, then the B189 up onto the plateau. Coming from the Fern Pass, drive via Nassereith; the turn-off is 3 km after Mieming. You park right next to the cabins. By bus, line 4176 runs from Innsbruck main station to the Gerhardhof stop in about an hour, then it's a 10-minute walk along the Angertalweg.
