You can easily reach us by public transport. Simply get off at the Fraunhoferstraße stop – that's the stop for:

Subway lines U1 & U2 or tram line 18

From there it's literally only a 2-3 minute walk.

Take exit C if you are coming from the subway.

No shuttle bus is needed – public transport covers everything and the journey is quite pleasant.

1. At the airport, follow the signs to the S-Bahn (suburban train).
2. Take the S1 or S8 towards the city center/main train station.
3. Get off at Munich Central Station.
4. Change to the U-Bahn (underground) and take the U1 (towards Mangfallplatz) or the U2 (towards Messestadt Ost).
5. Travel four stops to Fraunhoferstraße.
6. Exit the station via Exit C – you'll be with us in 2–3 minutes.

The entire journey takes approximately 45–55 minutes. Not bad for a trip across the city!

Arrived at Munich Central Station? Great. Two easy ways to reach us:

Option A — U-Bahn ~8 Min.

1. Go to the subway platforms.
2. Take the U1 (Mangfallplatz) or U2 (Messestadt Ost).
3. Travel 4 stops to Fraunhoferstraße and take exit C.
4. From there it's a 2-3 minute walk to Fraunhoferstraße 32 – you're there!

Option B – Tram ~15 min.

1. Take the exit towards Hauptbahnhof Nord (North Main Station) and find the tram stop.
2. Take tram line 18 towards Schwanseestraße.
3. Get off at the Fraunhoferstraße stop and walk for 2-3 minutes from there.

Absolutely possible! Just be aware that parking directly on the street can be difficult here – it's a lively neighborhood.

1. Take the A9, A95 or A96 and follow the Mittlerer Ring (Middle Ring Road) towards Munich city center.
2. Take the exit towards Isarvorstadt/Zentrum (Isarvorstadt/City Center) and follow the signs into the city.

Everything in the city center is easily accessible on foot, by bicycle, or by subway. A rental car is not necessary.

• Marienplatz & New Town Hall: The vibrant heart of Munich. Historic, lively, and always something going on. Experience the Glockenspiel at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. (also at 5 p.m. in summer) – touristy, but absolutely worth seeing.
• Alter Peter: 300 steps, burning legs – but the view is breathtaking. The best panorama of the Old Town, and on clear days you can even see the Alps.
• Viktualienmarkt: Bavarian street food at its finest. Ideal for lunch, a quick snack, or a cold beer. It doesn't get more authentic than this.
• Eisbach wave: Surfing right in the city – yes, really! Even watching is an experience. If you're feeling brave: bring your own board.
• English Garden: One of the largest urban parks in the world. Go for a walk and a picnic, enjoy a beer in a beer garden, or simply relax. Pure Munich joie de vivre.
• Bavarian State Opera: World-class opera, ballet, and concerts – and often there are even last-minute tickets available. A great option for an evening out.

Seestraße 17

Take the S6 suburban train to Starnberg, then take bus line 975 towards Wolfratshausen to the Berg, Grafstraße stop. We are just a few minutes' walk away on Seestraße.

Alternatively: from May to October, the Bavarian Lakes Shipping Company docks directly in Berg – perhaps the most beautiful way to arrive if you are already at the lake.

Take the S8 to Munich Central Station, then the S6 to Starnberg, and continue with bus line 975 to Berg, Grafstraße. Total travel time: approx. 60–70 minutes. By car via the A92 and A99, then the A95 towards Garmisch – similar travel time, but with a lake view at the end.

Absolutely possible! Go to Seestraße 17, 82335 Berg. Coming from Munich, take the A95 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen, exit at the Starnberg interchange towards Percha/Berg and follow the signs. Allow about 30 minutes from Munich city center.

Anyone who thinks that a lake is just water and tranquility hasn't been here yet. A few minutes' walk, a short boat trip, or a bike tour are enough to realize: the Five Lakes Region has more stories to tell than a postcard could ever capture.

Schloss Berg & Votivkapelle

Just around the corner – the former summer residence of King Ludwig II and the chapel that still commemorates him. The castle park invites you to stroll, completely free of charge.

Rose Island

The only island in Lake Starnberg, accessible only by boat. Once a retreat of the king, today a garden to lose yourself in – car-free, almost too idyllic to be true.

Possenhofen Castle

The childhood home of Empress Elisabeth ("Sisi"), located on the west bank. The castle itself is not open to visitors, but a walk along the shore in front of it is always worthwhile.

Starnberg

The small district town with its lakeside promenade, cafes and boutiques is just over 20 minutes away, perfect for when you need a break from relaxing.

Lake shipping

From April to October, excursion boats cruise the lake. A round trip takes about three hours, with stops including one in Berg.

Hiking & Cycling

The lakeside path around the lake is a classic, as is the loop through Berger Castle Park. Perfect for those who prefer walking to sitting.

Berg is small, but not unknown. The village first appears in a document in 822, long before a king spent his summers here or a writer was born who later wrote about his village from Munich.

The municipality itself stretches along the eastern shore in several districts – Leoni, Farchach, Aufkirchen, Kempfenhausen – each with its own character, all within cycling distance. Those who wish can simply follow the lakeside path as far as the day allows.

For food: Oskar Maria Graf Stüberl in Berg – Bavarian cuisine, hearty and honest, named after the writer who was born here.

For something sweet: The Starnberg Ice Cream Workshop in Starnberg (approx. 20 minutes) – homemade ice cream, waffles, cakes. If you have an even sweeter tooth, head to Amandines et Chocolats, a chocolate shop and patisserie, right nearby.

For swimming: You don't have to go far – our own jetty leads you directly into the water, and the sun loungers on the terrace are already waiting for the sun. Those who want to move on will find more swimming spots along the eastern shore.

For boating: Boat rental is available directly in town – for those who prefer to see the lake from the water rather than from the shore.

For strolling: Starnberg itself, with its lakeside promenade, small shops and cafes – close enough for an afternoon, far enough away to feel like a day trip.
